Comma running London Marathon 2021 to raise funds for Matt Hampson Foundation

Dan Fisher, Consulting Director at Comma, is taking part in the Virgin Money London Marathon this October

Dan has been running since his late teens and initially started running to keep himself fit for football. Having realised his dream of playing for West Bromwich Albion was never going to come true, running became his main fitness activity when he hit his late 20’s.

Although he tends to do mainly shorter events, he has ventured into half marathons a handful of times and this will be his fifth full road marathon...not counting the one at the end of Ironman. Not content with one marathon this year, he's training for London by also running the Worcester Half Marathon in September.

His aim for the London Marathon is to raise vital funds for the Matt Hampson Foundation and beat his personal best of 3 hours and 34 minutes.

"I can't wait get out there with thousands of other people to run this year's marathon." said Dan. "The last year has been tough for everyone but running has kept me and so many others active and really helps with mental health too. To be able to push myself and raise funds for a sporting charity like the Matt Hampson Foundation is a huge motivator."

The Matt Hampson Foundation

The Matt Hampson Foundation was established in 2011 by former Leicester Tigers and England rugby player Matt “Hambo” Hampson.

Matt was paralysed during training in 2005 and went on to inspire and support other people who get seriously injured through sport.

The foundation has since opened the Get Busy Living rehab centre in Leicestershire with the support of many individuals and companies, including Comma.
